{"id":10,"date":"2012-01-14T18:40:25","date_gmt":"2012-01-14T10:40:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/singjain.wpengine.com\/?page_id=10"},"modified":"2021-09-20T00:17:53","modified_gmt":"2021-09-19T16:17:53","slug":"commit","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.sjrs.org.sg\/?page_id=10","title":{"rendered":"COMMIT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/singjain.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/COMMIT-Logo-e1631974167211.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-314 size-medium aligncenter\" title=\"COMMIT Logo\" src=\"https:\/\/singjain.wpengine.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/01\/COMMIT-Logo-e1631974167211-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Commit was started in late 2009 to help focus SJRS members make a more focused and consolidated charity contribution to the wider Singaporean community, particularly the needy and less fortunate, and for our members and SJRS sub-groups and committees to directly participate and learn from these meaningful engagements.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Since its inception, Commit has had a series of activities with Sunlove, its adopted charity, and also with other organisations.&nbsp; Continued efforts have been made to not only meet the needs of the locally adopted charity, but also to serve other organisations, respond to overseas crises and increase environmental awareness.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Commit activities caters to all age groups in our community.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There are various ways you can be part of Commit<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><strong>donate \/ contribute in cash or in kind <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">You can contribute for the benefit of Sunlove residents or other needy organisations. You can do this on a regular or ad hoc basis or on occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, memoriums, etc.<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><strong>sponsor items on \u201cneeds list\u201d<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sunlove beneficiaries regularly have needs for their home that they are unable to afford themselves. You can make their day by sponsoring the items.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><strong>spend your time or resources for activities at Sunlove or in SJRS events<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Have some time to spend? Why not join the Commit team and bring a smile to others<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><strong>have an idea?<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Any ideas or suggestions to help the community is welcome! \u2026Anyone can contribute !<\/p>\n<h3><strong><em>Still thinking&#8230;.Some food for thoughts&#8230;.<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>&#8220;Everyone can give something. Even if you can&#8217;t give money or material objects, you can give time, knowledge, wisdom, skills, leadership, attention, touch, advice, hope, laughter, or love.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>Love is a universal need and spans all countries, cultures, and faiths. <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>Those who are blessed with knowledge and wisdom have a responsibility to share their knowledge and wisdom. <\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>Time and money are both valuable resources.
