9th May 2012
Dear Members,
HARMONY GAMES 2012
We are just about 2 weeks away from this major event that will be held on Saturday 26 May 2012 at Maha Bodhi School. Many of you have signed up as volunteers for these games but we still need another 50 more volunteers.
Volunteer’s Briefing will be held this Saturday, 12 May 2012 from 3.00 – 5.00 pm at our Jain Sthanak. At the briefing, you will be informed on details of the Games and also the area of work that you will be assisting in. Please be on time as the briefing will start punctually and end by 4.30 to 5.00 pm, as there is another event at the Sthanak from 5.00 pm onwards.
Even if you have not signed up, please come for the briefing and you can register at the same time. Please encourage your family members or friends from SJRS to attend the briefing and join in as a volunteer. In appreciation all volunteers will be given a T-shirt to be worn on the event day.
You can also help by:
- Sending the attached event flyer to all your friends. This event is open to every one of all races and religions.
- Harmony Games 2012 Facebook is up. Visit: www.facebook.com/harmonygames2012 , LIKE the page and invite your friends to do the same.
Do join and support our Young Jains of Singapore (YJS) who are spearheading this National event.
DARSHAN TIMING – SAT, 12 MAY 2012
Please note that the evening Darshan timing for this Saturday May 12 will be from 8.00pm to 8.30 pm only, in view of a private event being held at our Sthanak earlier that same evening
CONVERSION EXERCISE FROM ORDINARY TO LIFE MEMBERSHIP
Thank you for responding to our earlier request, but there remain many ordinary members who have still not converted their membership.
We strongly request all to support this initiative. Those who missed the earlier opportunities can send an email to any of the following, with details of their full name, date of birth and if you have any unpaid membership fees from previous years. They will advise you on how to convert your ordinary membership to life membership.

PLEDGES – PUJYA SWAMI CHIDANANDJI
We have received the following message and request from Sadhvi Bhagwati of Parmath Niketan. We encourage all to participate.
This year of 2012 marks the completion of Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji Maharaj’s 60 years on Earth. As you all know, His entire life is dedicated to the “service of God and humanity”. Therefore, for His 60th birthday, we would like to compile a book of pledges, from as many people as possible, of ways that you all will serve God and humanity. Your pledge can be simple and personal (e.g. to get angry less frequently, to stop drinking alcohol or to stop hitting your spouse/children) or global (e.g. to donate a certain amount of time, energy or money to charitable works, to take on a particular seva project and see it through to completion, to stop eating meat for the benefit of the planet). We will compile these and bind them into a book for Pujya Swamiji for His birthday.
Please email your pledges to jayanti@parmarth.com and please be sure to include your full name, age (if you are a youth), and city/country.
There is also room in the book for letters to Pujya Swamiji, sharing our gratitude and love for Him. So please feel free to send letters to Him also.
The submissions should be in 2 formats:
1. The pledge can be sent via simple email with your name, your city and country, your age (if you feel like sharing it…) and your pledge. We will compile and design these.
2. The letters should preferably be on letterhead or stationary, and you can even include a photo on the page if you like. They can be either handwritten or typed. So for the letters, please email us a jpg or pdf of your scanned letter on letterhead/stationary.
Both of these should be sent to jayanti@parmarth.com.
Submission deadline is May 15, 2012.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Jai Jinendra.
